Roots Muay Thai, established in September 2024 in Edmond, Oklahoma, is the realization of a lifelong dream born from a deep passion for martial arts training. The foundation of Roots Muay Thai was inspired by nearly a decade of dedicated practice at a local gym, where the founder Bronson, along with his family, discovered the profound joy and fulfillment that Muay Thai brings to people of all ages.
The journey into combat arts began in 2004 when the founder Bronson enlisted in the United States Army as an Airborne Infantryman. During his military service, he immersed himself in training through the Army Combative program and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, laying the groundwork for his future in martial arts. Following his transition from the military, Bronson spent the next ten years refining his skills in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Vale Tudo, Kickboxing, and Muay Thai.
A significant milestone was reached in 2021 when Bronson and his oldest son competed in the Thai Boxing World Championships in Des Moines, Iowa. Both emerged victorious, securing World Championship titles in their respective divisions. Bronson’s son was awarded the prestigious Nak Muay trophy, recognizing him as the standout fighter of the tournament among over 1,000 competitors from across the globe.
